ABOUT SCECC
The cricket club originally existed as Rodexians CC, founded in 1947, a ‘works’ team for the clothing factory in Bletchley, Rodex. When their home ground was sold in 1969 on the site of Bletchley Tesco and V7 Saxon Street, the club relocated to - and became - Rickley Park CC, continuing to play Saturday and Sunday cricket. A midweek side began to compete in 1987.
The 1993 season saw another name change to become Shenley Church End CC, and moved to play it's home fixtures in the grounds of Denbigh School. The club later joined the Four Counties Cricket League in 2001, starting in Division 5.
In 2002, SCECC decided on a change of home ground (but no club name alteration) relocating to Manor Fields in Bletchley, sharing the facilities provided by of Bletchley Town CC and since settling into surroundings on the lower pitch.
Whilst we do not run youth sides, we are extremely keen to attract older youths to the club, developing them during winter net sessions and initially in the Sunday side. Qualified coaching is available to all, and full participation and progression in our matches is highly encouraged.
NETS Shenley's pre-season activities start in early February with good standard indoor nets at the Radcliffe School, which takes place on a Wednesday and Sunday until late April. This is always a great way of starting off at SCECC. There are also outdoor practices held throughout the summer, to sharpen your game away from the square! Again, don't hesitate to contact us if you wish to attend nets.
